Crimson Manor is a specialist, 20 bed dementia care home in Milnsbridge, Huddersfield offering long term residental care, short stay and day care. The home benefits from beautiful views over Colne Valley.
Whether joining Crimson Manor for full time residential care or for day care, we hope everyone who receives our care feels supported to enjoy their remaining years. Our mission is to provide best practice dementia care as well as innovative approaches to enable people with dementia to not just live well, but to thrive.
Care until the end of life: Dementia is a degenerative disease and we expect people's needs to change over time. As a specialist dementia care home we are able to adapt to escalating care needs, ensuring that our residents do not have to suffer the trauma of changing care homes later on.
Individual bedrooms: Each bedroom is individually decorated and has en-suite facilities. Bedrooms are all fitted with specialist locks that never lock a person in but can be locked to keep other residents out. Residents are also able to have their own key. All bedrooms have telephones with free national, local and mobile calls and internet access. A nurse call system with a range of adaptations is fitted in each room. All rooms have fully mobile profiling beds and pressure relieving mattresses. We encourage residents to bring their own possessions to make their room feel like home. Crimson Manor is also a pet friendly home, wherever possible we will support residents to continute to keep their pets with them.

Unfortuantely, it is widely acknowleged that Kirklees funding rates do not cover the cost of care. Many care homes will, therefore, accept residents at Kirklees' funded rates and overcharge self-funding residents in order to subsidise the lower rates of Kirklees' funded residents. In effect, this operates like a 'tax' on self-funding residents which unfairly inflates the cost of their care. In some homes, self funding residents can pay several hundred pounds more per week than Kirklees' funded residents.
Fair Fees Policy: Crimson Manor does not believe such fee arrangements are ethical. Self funding residents should not have to subsidise the care fees of other residents. We operate a Fair Fees for Self Funders policy. All residents pay the same care fees irrespective of funding arrangements. This ensures we can provide care at reasonable rates for everyone.
